Truthfully the name ZERO DISPLACEMENT evolved from surfboard artesian Greg Liddle's creations and simple fact it I thought it was just a cool name. Raised in a Southern California environment that evolved surfing, skateboarding and hanging out at Greg's surf shop riding his surfboards as a kid I was first introduced to his "Displacement Hulls". The concept of this surfboard design involved driving down the line feeling just the style of surfing. Researching the term it all made perfect since. If a given body returns to zero then its displacement is zero. Apply the definition as a production company where no matter the project size or budget they same principals apply. Create a production team and client collaboration that believes in these principals even better. As a Director of Photography I realized my passion for film making was way beyond holding a meter and operating a camera. Directing, operating, editing or just overseeing a project in production I simply love every aspect of filmmaking. Using all the emerging technologies like RED or the Canon DSLR's creative and even budgets are open to broader opportunities the passion just gets stronger. Apply the ZERO DISPLACEMENT principles and you have a symbiotic relationship. Take a peek and enjoy the work. Reference take ideas and perhaps share your knowledge.
